– once upon a time, in winter
– Japanese people boiled rice with a iron pot
– then they used to shift the rice
– from the pot to a wooden container
– and put the container in a straw case
– in order to keep them warm
– we call the case ‘O-Hitsu (/Hachi)-Ire
– (お[御]櫃[鉢]入/飯櫃入/御櫃畚[おひつふご/おはちふご])’ etc.
– though, in our time, we become used to using
– the ‘electrical full intelligent automatic
– rice-cooker & warmer with timer’
– and we all in all come to use it at each meal routinely
– so, that’s it, the pot, the container and the warmer
– become useless traditional historical goods perfectly
– nowadays, only the warmer survives
– as the cocoon bed for the indoor cat
