– Masaoka Shiki versified
– ‘there was an azalea flower arrangement
in the vase on the tokonoma as an ornament
oh, the flowers have been already past its show by date
on the first day of the summer, today’
– well, i expect that he was young when he wrote it
– if he could live long and face the similar situation
– maybe he must have versed
– as looking at faded arranged azalea in the vase
– ‘oh, in the course of time,
i finally become the eldest of all around here !
on the first day of the summer, today’
