おらが笠おませ夏野や石地蔵

オラガカサ オマセナツノヤ イシヂザウ

– there was a guardian deity of children
– stone staue without hat on
– at the shadeless roasting roadside
– in the summer field alone and lonely
– where the sun beated down on our head
– i bared my head and offered my used-up hat
– that had seen its day to him
– i slapped it onto his head
– as alternated
– i pulled Japanese towel over my head
– and i entered my path
– in a similar manner of him   

おらがかさ おませなつのや いしじぞう
