– today is the Star Festival
– of ‘Tsuki-Okure [月後れ/月遅れ]’

‘Tsuki-Okure’ means that under the Gregorian calendar
(the New Style), dates of annually scheduled Japanese
programs or events are deferred just one month compared
to the lunisolar calendar. We also call it as ‘Chu-Reki [中暦:
means ‘meeting halfway of both calendars’].’
Though Chu-Reki will not necessarily be the same as ‘Lunar calendar’.
For example, we have three times ‘Star Festival’ Day in 2017,
July 7th (under Gregorian calendar), August 7th (under ‘Chu-Reki’)
and August 28th (under ‘Lunar calendar’).

– it makes i think that
– Vega (Lyra-α star) and Altair (Aquila-α star)
– have been loving each other
– for fifty hundred million years
– from the start of cosmogony
– and have met once a year
– only on the day of Star Festival
– though they looks ageless and keep them young
– well … i advance in age every year
– and i will be come up for resting in peace on my way …
– yes, i just laugh to myself every year alone
