– i have already gotten
– the sober habits for few years
– and i have become the ex-smoker
– in the past few months
– yes, i have done the tamperate life
– and become an extinct volcano
– like the enlightened Puritan and/or Zen Monk
– in the result, nobody entices me, old fart,
– to the forget-the-year party
– as affairs now stand
– yes, it is as working out i planned as
– i will be gone out slip from anyone’s minds
– sure, ‘Every form in reality is empty,
– and emptiness is the true form.’

木の葉散る朝より広き径の空

縁側の軒のみぎりや日向ぼこ

– i looked blankly at the late-autumn garden
– from the sunny ‘Wen-Gaha [縁側]’ edge
– of the inner corridor under the eaves
– sitting there and swinging my legs
– over the slab that was paved with stones
– for anti-wearing-away by raindrops from eaves
– and i had vegged out there all through the day
– but i was sure i was not dead then,
– because i recited a spell that a whole lot
– ‘dum vivimus vivamus, dum vivimus vivamus’   
　
[ ‘Wen-Gaha [縁側]’ ：it is the combined/shared corridor that connects
every room of Japanese traditional residential architecture. When it uses
as walkway for exclusive use, we call it as ‘Rō-ka [廊下]’. If we use it both
or mixed as veranda, walkway, drying place and sunny terrace recreational
sitting space etc., we call it as ‘Wen-Gaha [縁側]’ .]

冬晴とて西高東低慈悲もなし

– it has been fine even since the morning
– though the pressure pattern has already changed
– we are in the typical winter pressure patterns
– such as, the high-pressure area to the west,
– and the low-pressure area to the east,
– and an unprecedented cold air mass
– was covering the Japanese archipelago
– now … the old wives summer has passed
– it grows cold with the northern nippy winds
– nonetherless, i have been a grass widower
– sure, in my instance, it seems to follow that
– i will never know what the old wife is
– whole life long
