– strong and sturdy adult men
– who had the spirit of fortitude and tough-looking
– had kept observation on the ‘Kagami-Biraki’
‘cutting ceremony (to eat) of a pair of giant round rice cakes
that has been very hard because of offering and displaying
for the New Year’s God and others
while more than ten days following New Year’s Day’
– at the Swordplay Training Hall
– A knife could not be used
– as this might cut the good luck contained
– in the kagami-mochi
– then an very aged master of sword
– who did not have much strength
– and it seemed that a little he had been down
– the audience sat on the edge of their seats for each
– the aged master had little trouble broken up it
– with his seven little paraphernalias to live by
… and
– he said silently
– ‘When you are not strong, you must be smart’

– today i decided to undergo rehab
– and started to walk again slowly
– it was cold today, too
– and i felt below par, though i did
– i made today’s goal in the morning
– that took 10 minutes to walk 100 meter
– and walk 1 kilometer
– of course, i spent a little extra time
– and gave up halfway ….
– already in the early afternoon
