矢車草

待つ宵の正面に咲きし矢車の

花こそ戦げこひ死なむとに

まつよひの　まともにさきし　やぐるまの

はなこそそよげ　こひしなむとに

I am desperately in a love with such depth to you,
I miss seeing you any more.
Corn-flowers are blossoming in front of me.
Each time they are shuddering in the breeze, they make my heart ache.
Better still, I transform into the wind and want to go where you are.

– Nagai Kafu (1879.12.3-†1959.4.30) was one of demonic novelists in Japan
– his novels are aesthetic and a lot of his riffs are devoted to lost ladies
– he rolled off within spring flowers from stuffy world and died

七重八重色を重ねて触れあへる

若葉うらやむ逢へぬ心は

ななへやへ　いろをかさねて　ふれあへる

わかばうらやむ　あへぬこころは

Pain means that I have overstressed my mind and body.
I am sure of living with the pain from the cut,
because it provides a chance of cure for several days.
Though the pain from the mind is excruciatingly slow,
so it suffers unbearably.

白湯飲めば雨にも開く八重桜

– once upon a time, in Japan, on the celebratory occasion
– the entertainer served the emissary with Sakura-yu
– which was the hot water within the salted double-cherry flower
– it is raining now, double-cherry tree is in full bloom in the rain

おぼほればおぼほるほどに空ろなる

夢にも揺るるをだまきの花

おぼほれば　おぼほるほどに　うつろなる

ゆめにもゆるる　をだまきのはな

I can not have done with …
Yes, Love is without reason.
Though the course of true love never did run smooth.
And in a lot of cases, Love is the load-stone of love.
The blossom of Aquilegia-flabellata strikes me as such an empty feeling.

– Butterbur is growing up at the humidified place
– they have no occasion to plaster as me
– they have youth on their side

藤の花

いたむ肩おさへあきらむ雨空に

しづくも垂るる棚の藤花

いたむかた　おさへあきらむ　あまぞらに

しづくもたるる　たなのふじばな

I have gotten frozen shoulder with pain.
It is easy to hop up and down howling with the pain.
Though, maybe it is senescent.
I know that I prove futile to revolt the aging.
So I am reconciled to gazing at the rainy wisteria blossoms.

露しげき蓬が宿にある人は

我か人かと袖ぞたしかむ

つゆしげき　よもぎがやどに　あるひとは

われかひとかと　そでぞたしかむ

There is a little run-down hut at the grassy patch,
the approach to the front door overruns with tansy.
I wonder who lives here.
Ha-ha, to tell you the truth,
this particular hut is my house.
