あらきだつち〔荒木田土〕：もと東京の荒川沿岸の荒木
田原に産した土のため、この名がある。茶褐色の粘土で、
粘着力に富む。壁土や園芸用、相撲の土俵の盛り土にも
用いる。現在は産地にかかわらず水田･沼などから産する
同種の土をいう。荒木田とだけ用いることもある。
